I’m Linda, a trained journalist and freelance PR consultant in York

I’ve always loved writing. And from the moment I netted my first headline in the student paper at university, I was hooked.

Why work with me?

I’m a trained journalist, so I understand how newspapers and magazines work…

After gaining my NCTJ Diploma in Newspaper Journalism at Cardiff University, I cut my teeth as a reporter at The Argus, a busy daily newspaper in Brighton. This gave me valuable experience of writing news stories to tight deadlines.

I also worked as a reporter and feature writer in national newsrooms in London for many years, including The Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star.

I then went freelance, writing articles for newspapers and magazines like The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, MailOnline and Woman magazine, among many others.

This means I’ve reported on everything from people getting mugged by seagulls for their tuna sandwiches and celebrity interviews to crown court trials and breaking international news stories.

“Linda oozes positive energy in her work, creates such excitement in you and your story, and goes all out to get you visible.

“Linda grabbed my family adventure book for the North East of England, Word Hunt Adventures, with enthusiasm and gusto. She waved it in the air, jumped up and down and sang its praises to all the media channels we could think of. And it worked!

”We got into some great North East publications, including The Yorkshire Post and Northern Echo, and I got a slot on BBC Radio York. I can’t wait to work with Linda again on future projects. Don’t delay. If you’ve got a story, Linda is your path to visibility!”

Yorkshire author, Lorna Garrity

I’m passionate about neuroinclusion

I love producing copy and content to raise awareness around autism and neurodiversity, including blogs, social media, articles and case studies.

This includes:

• Thought leadership/expert opinion articles and guidance for internal comms teams on neuroinclusive language.

• Interviews for magazine features.

I have a personal interest in this area as a parent. I’m qualified in IPSEA’s Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Law - Level 1, and training to be a volunteer on IPSEA’s parent and carer legal advice helpline.

I’m actively involved with local Yorkshire charity Autism Angels, including helping with PR and press coverage for their fundraising activities.

From personal finance to celebs, I’ve written about pretty much everything as a journalist.
